Swiss 2023

Finally the covid restrictions ceased and we set off again on an expedition to Switzerland in search of good public transport practice. The students were so impressed with the almost two-week event that they were unable to report on it for a long time. However, they worked hard on it and now it is here!

So what happened in the summer of 2023? There was a tactical expedition that covered the whole of Switzerland. We bought a SwissPass, arrived in Switzerland (unfortunately via Germany, but we made it), set up base in Aesch near Zurich and set out to discover what public transport should look like. We visited places from St. Gallen to Lausanne, Basel to Lugano, mountains and lakes, bus, trolley and tram operations, narrow gauge, standard gauge and cable cars. You can now see what it was like in the attached gallery. And we look forward to our next visit to this country.
