At the beginning of July, a group of our students went on an expedition for most trams to France. Over the course of seven days, we visited the traffic and facilities of public transport in more than 13 cities. The participants were able to immediately monitor and compare the development of the concept of planning modern tram operations over time, different approaches of individual cities and their impacts, rare actions in the form of downstream power or trams on tires and last but not least to compare different concepts of low-floor trams in practice. In the busy program, there was time left in the summer heat to relax in the waves of the ocean or in the shadow of the famous cathedrals, we also visited Omaha Beach or Mont Saint Michel.
During the autumn, we are preparing a screening with a discussion within the lectures of the Railway Company.
The expedition was supported by a program to support development projects of academic staff and students at CTU FTS within the CTU Institutional Plan.
