The main objective of The group is to create a methodical procedure enabling the introduction and operation of systematic training of train drivers with the use of rail vehicle simulators in the CZ. The outputs of this project will be directly applicable to the legislative process of obtaining and verifying the professional competence of drivers and will serve as the basic specifications for the systematic introduction of this process in the Czech Republic. The group is taking the first necessary step to realize and fulfill the idea of introducing systematic training of drivers in the CZ, which is stated in the Implementation Plan for the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) AP in the CZ by 2020 approved by the Czech Government. Simulator and simulator of rolling stock driving.
Realization period 2020-2022
The aim of this project is to formulate a generally usable methodology for design of network-wide operational concept of long-distance train lines on Rapid Services network and, in particular,on adjoining railway lines. The accordance with actual legislative will be ensured. The methodology will include layout of train lines into homogeneous and efficient passenger operations packages, where each one can be operated by another train operating company. The methodology will combine application of mathematical rules of Integrated Periodic Timetable with restricting conditions, derived from coordinated timetabling of more train lines of different segments. The operational concept, based on the methodology, will be used for official Public Transport Conception. Line packaging will be done as well.
Realization period 2020-2023
Creation and certification of a methodology for orderers of public railway transport service, with the goal of harvesting of synergistic effects between different hierarchical service layers (segments) for planning of efficient operational concept, based on the principle of Integrated Periodic Timetable. The methodology will consider adequacy of service, related to transport demand, which is expectable in given area. Efficiency of rolling stock utilization will be considered as well. Another outputs will be a network layout of (both vertically and horizontally) integrated operational concept, common for more public service orderers, and list of intentions of new railway stops, whose realization would lead to decrease of public service railway system efficiency.
Realization period 2017-2019
The aim of this research is to set a methodology for an influence evaluation stemming from a changed connectivity among metropolitan centres with other nodes of different hierarchies (regional and local) and with peripheral areas (inner- and outer) due to Rapid services implementation as well as its effects on labour market in the Czech Republic and relevant surrounding.
Realization period 2016
The goal of The group is to propose a procedure of optimal interaction between infrastructure and vehicles parameters regarding the impact on the requirements of costumer of PSO and end costumers. - Optimizing relation between infrastructure managers and vehicles and the business activities on the railways. - Assessment of capacity share between passenger and freight transport on routes with dense traffic and requirements establishment on performance parameters of individual segments of transport. - New technologies and innovations towards increasing the capacity and safety on the railways with regard to maintaining the positive impact of the railways on the environment. - Improving the offer of international rail transport.
Realization period 2015-2016
Parametrization of railway net in Czech Republic from the view of integration to transportation services by improving quality offer by definiting optimal net hubs.
Realization period 2007-2009
Data ensuring for the research of rail factor and its role in the attractivity of transport modes according to the passengers´ opinions. It will include a transport survey, a questionnaire and their analysis with respect to a recently introduced operational concept change in favour of rail transport.
Realization period 2020-2021
Development and stabilization of the railway infrastructure data base for academic and commercial purposes within the competence of CTU FD K617 including possibilities of using new sources of machine-readable data and methodology of their use for specific use casec - railway timetabling and microsimulation of railway traffic.
Realization period 2019-2020
Integrated Periodic Timetable (IPT) occurs increasingly in European railway passenger transport (including Czech Republic), which in cooperation with freigt transport generates in specific places and times so-called infrastructure bottlenecks. Interaction of passenger and freight traffic (mainly in future outlook) causes conflicts between the requirements of railway infrastructure capacity and features of infrastructure, especially taking account of irregularities (delays). The result is either a lower quality (insufficient stability) in operation concept (including freight traffic) or it's absolutely impossible to create such including delays operation concept.
The aim of this project is to verify the procedure for implementation and check the real railway capacity of IPT-nodes with the inclusion of passenger and freight transport, including the effects of irregularities in operation. Also the possible infrastructure modifications as a result of coordination between transport irregularities and desired stability of operational concept will be check.
As a pattern in the form of passenger IPT, outputs of R&D project "Configuration of IPT-nodes in Czech Republic" (on behalf of Ministry of Transport) will be used. For practical examination, Swiss simulation software OpenTrack will be used. This software is on CTU, Faculty of Transportation, for research projects available.
